The Memory Project

The Memory Project collects oral histories from survivors of the Great Famine between 1958 and 1961. It contains 487 interviews. More recently the project has also covered the Great Leap Forward of 1958-1960, the Land Reform and the Collectivization of 1949-1953, the Four Cleanups Movement in 1964, and the Cultural Revolution of 1966-1976. Undertaken by Wu Wenguang's documentary film studio, Work Station, in 2009.

Contemporary Chinese Village Gazetteer Data/数字村庄

Village gazetteers record statistical data on individual villages, covering the years from 1949 to the present showing the history and development of Chinese villages. The project currently numbers over 2,700. The dataset containing information on 1,200 villages is available for download in .csv format. An interactive map with basic administrative information on each collected village is also included.

Modern Chinese Customs Name Authority Database/近代史所档案馆任命权威检索系统

The database allows users to search the biographies of people in the history of modern Chinese customs by name, nationality, residence, title, academic experience, honors and awards, time range and other criteria. It also provides the English-Chinese comparison of the titles of modern Chinese customs agencies and a list of new customs and related agencies established.
