Releases Beijing, or the whole China, micro-data and maps (e.g. road networks, parcels, human mobility, historical city maps).
In collaboration with CHGIS, the Russian Academy of Science, Institute of Geography in Moscow is cataloging and digitizing important historical maps that were produced by Russian cartographers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Robert Hartwell datasets consist of five historical layers for the years: 741 (Tang), 1080 (Northern Song), 1200 (Southern Song), 1290 (Yuan), 1391(Ming)
The China Historical Geographic Information System, CHGIS, project was launched in January 2001 to establish a database of populated places and historical administrative units for the period of Chinese history between 221 BCE and 1911 CE. CHGIS provides a base GIS platform for researchers to use in spatial analysis, temporal statistical modeling, and representation of selected historical units as digital maps.
A project to create and maintain databases of spatially- and temporally-referenced data on China. It reconstructs Chinese administrative geography for specific historical dates, and allows for comparison of spatial data at two points in time, whether over years or over centuries.
