A random sample of Chinese citizens on their religious and spiritual life. Data collected in 2007.Funded by The John Templeton Foundation.

A national probability sample survey conducted in PR China in 1996 in both urban and rural areas as part of the project "Life Histories and Social Change in Contemporary China," A survey of village leaders was also carried out using the same questionnaire. The site provides access to the data, bibliography, and codebooks to the study as well as the online analysis.

A collaborative project of the University of Chicago/NORC; Renmin University, Beijing; Peking Union Medical College, Beijing; and the University of North Carolina. The study produces a baseline set of results on sexual behavior and disease patterns, using a nationally representative probability sample. Topics include childhood sexual contact, intimate partner violence, forced sex, sexual harassment, body image concerns, sexual well-being, and sexually transmitted diseases and risk behavior.

Hosts data sets from major longitudinal and cross-sectional studies in mainland China on social, economic and political topics, such as the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS). Supported by the National Survey Research Center, Renmin University of China.

Provides rich data from years' fieldwork in Lianmin Village, a small village in Haining, Zhejiang Province. It includes narratives, photos and videos from interviews with village members, as well as household accounts, accounting books, and historical documents on production and land reform.

The panel studied relationships and behaviors of the the families Chinese families across Taiwan Strait since 1999.

AidData is a research lab at William & Mary's Global Research Institute. It provides a wide range of sectoral and spatial data on bilateral and multilateral foreign assistance projects, including a special China section.

An annual cross-sectional study on Beijing residents' values, attitudes, beliefs, opinions, and expectations in the social and economic life. The study draws on the Detroit Area Study and General Social Survey. 

Nationally representative survey in China on household finance and assets, including housing, business assets, financial assets, and other household assets. The survey also has information about income and expenditures, social and commercial insurance, and much more.

CHNS is an ongoing open cohort which aims to examine the effects of the health, nutrition, and family planning policies and programs implemented by national and local governments and to see how the social and economic transformation of Chinese society is affecting the health and nutritional status of its population.
